At 1PointFive, we're deploying Carbon Engineering’s proven technology at an industrial scale. Ready to make a difference?
Models published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) require removing up to 20 Gt of carbon dioxide per year from the atmosphere to limit global warming to 1.5°C. 1PointFive is developing solutions to remove and securely store CO2 for hard-to-abate sectors, such as aviation, maritime and industry. We're also in the process of creating sequestration hubs to provide CO2 storage to help industrial facilities reduce their emissions.
1PointFive is currently developing its first large-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) facility to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere which can be measured, verified and stored securely underground. These critical factors enable us to provide high-quality carbon removal credits (CDRs) to help businesses achieve their climate targets.
Discover MoreGeologic sequestration is the process of storing CO2 in geological formations deep underground. Tapping the massive potential of such geological formations around the globe, 1PointFive plans to store CO2 from DAC and make secure CO2 sequestration available to industrial facilities employing point source capture.
Go DeeperWhether addressing residual emissions through carbon dioxide removal or looking for a sequestration partner for industrial carbon capture, companies are turning to 1PointFive.
Our teams intend to leverage more than 50 years of experience in carbon management and DAC technology to accelerate large-volume carbon removal and develop sites for secure CO2 sequestration.
We are currently building what will be the world's largest DAC facility, and our next generation of DACs will have the potential to double in capacity. We've secured geologic storage capacity to hold up to six billion tonnes of CO2 obtained through Direct Air Capture or from industrial facilities.
Due to the depth of the geological formations and the natural physical processes that trap CO2 deep underground, geologic sequestration is considered one of the most stable, durable forms of carbon storage.
1PointFive is committed to providing companies with large-scale, secure and verified carbon removal and storage.
Start TodayDirect Air Capture (DAC) is a technology that removes carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. Using high-powered fans, air is drawn into a processing facility where the CO2 is separated through a series of chemical reactions. Then the CO2 is either stored in underground reservoirs through secure geologic sequestration, or is used to make new products such as building materials and low-carbon fuels.
A carbon dioxide removal credit is a tradable certificate representing one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) removed from the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide removal credits are certified by third-party registration and issuance bodies and can have applications in both voluntary carbon markets and compliance markets, such as the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
We will have carbon sequestration sites adjacent to our DAC facilities. CO2 will be compressed on site and be transported via pipeline to a sequestration well. We are also developing carbon sequestration hubs in key industrial corridors along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
